and in case you’re wondering about the AI in his palm, this was done for a contest by Art Institute students
Went to Comicon in Baltimore yesterday with some friends. It was so fun!
These are some photos I took while I was there, mainly of cosplayers. The artwork in the 4th pic is by http://shadedareas.com , he was so nice and fun to talk to!
I bought 7 really awesome prints so I will post those later too :)
I received this message on my LinkedIn page and thought I’d post it for anyone interested:

PLEASE STOP SCROLLING AND READ THIS IF YOU ARE EVEN THINKING ABOUT CONSIDERING THE ART INSTITUTES.
The Art Institute that I attend in California’s Orange County has been featured on multiple news websites in regards to a recent event that has torn our campus to pieces.
Mike Tracy, a fantastic and passionate animation teacher, has been terminated for taking a stand against unnecessary digital textbooks. Despite a petition that rounded up 3,700 votes in 12 days asking AI to reconsider, they fired Tracy and remain stone-faced about the decision. They are now laying off more than 25 teachers and consolidating majors to protect their profits, further hindering the students as they struggle with the astronomical tuition the school demands.
Right now I’m attending The Art Institute of York - Pennsylvania with only about 1 year left before I graduate. Just the other week we found out that all our Academic Directors have been fired. They were told they could re-apply for the job, but if they do, they have to be an Academic Director and teach 4 classes if they get the job. Not only that, but there will no longer be an Academic Director for each major like we have now. Instead, I believe they are having 1 for Animation since it’s a large major, and all the other majors will be under 1 person (which makes no sense). My Academic Director held 3 positions: Web Design director, Animation director, and teacher. Now she’s probably just going to be only a teacher. I’m sure EDMC is very happy cutting up her salary (as well as the other Academic Directors) to help for their lawsuit.
Then there is also the issue with books. When I had English II class, my teacher told us that Corporate is making him change the textbook for it because it is “out of date”. The book is a collection of short stories. How can a collection of short stories be out of date? Even though that book is very old, it is still quite expensive. No doubt an “up-to-date” book of short stories would be even more expensive!
They are also now trying to switch to ebooks. If you sign up for a class that uses an ebook, they tack on an extra charge for the ebook. You are not allowed to choose whether you want it, they charge you for it no matter what. I don’t even know how much they charge you for it, because I was never even told about this when I signed up for classes with ebooks!
It’s a shame because this school was originally Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts, but then was bought and turned into an Art Institute. A good amount of teachers are from the original school and they have to watch as Corporate is negatively affecting the school and the students. My education at this school has been great but I am seriously wondering what else EDMC is gonna mess with in my last year here.
Logo I created for a beginner jQuery demo site. I took the jQuery symbol and turned it into a sort of crown/tiara to go with my Queen theme.
No idea why Tumblr decided to stretch it out and mess up the quality though…
Keeper is a free app you can get for your desktop or phone. If you have a lot of online accounts and use many different passwords, you can use this to securely store and organize all your passwords. Very useful :)
